Cross Docking

Receive inbound goods and move them straight out to the next delivery.

Palletised cartons in a warehouse ready to move

Overview

Cross docking is for stock that should not sit. Goods are received, checked and rebuilt for the onward delivery with as little storage time as possible.

It is useful for pre-allocated imports, retail allocations and transfers between your own sites.

Benefits

  • Less double handling
  • Faster onward delivery
  • Lower storage for pre-sold goods

How it works

  1. 01

    Agree the plan

We need the inbound contents and the outbound destinations before the goods arrive.

  2. 02

    Receive and sort

Cargo is checked and split or rebuilt for each destination.

  3. 03

    Dispatch

Outbound loads leave on the booked courier or freight service.

Who it’s for

  • Pre-allocated imports
  • Retail distribution
  • Stock transfers

Questions about Cross Docking

No. The aim is to move goods through, not to hold them. Short holding can be arranged if a connection is missed.
